You can both create art with today's digital media tools, and use those same tools to communicate with others about you and your art... on websites, on social media, in email and text messages, and make printed posters, flyers, and framed prints.
In this workshop, Jim will introduce you to some of today's most popular tools for digital media, and you'll create and post a video on YouTube. Topics include:
- Video: to introdue yourself to people, get a timely message out (for example, about your upcoming exhibition), survey your art, or make new art (like a slideshow, but with greater fidelity).
- Audio: great for musicians and podcasts.
- Images: for photos, graphic art, mixtures. Editing. Dgital creation.
- Tools: phones, tablets, computers, mice, mics, digital cameras and sketchpads.

At the first session on April 24, Keith will guide you (on Zoom) in hand-crafting an earthenware object from a pound of clay that you picked-up beforehand from Keith's driveway.
After you complete the sculpting (with the aid of common household implements), you'll return your work to Keith's driveway in preparation for firing.
At the second session on May 29, you can return to Zoom to watch Keith and Elsa Rubenstein wrap your work in a foil sagger, stack all of the wrapped pieces in a dug-out pit lined with wood, then light the pit on fire! You can return to the Zoom later that day (at 5 pm) to watch Keith and Elisa extract the fired pieces from the pit.
You'll be able to pick up your finished materpiece from Keith's driveway after May 29th.
Note: There wil be a $5 fee for this workshop to cover the cost of materials, payable online when you register. You'll also get an email with detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to do each step in this workshop.
